The Twelve ApostlesWelcome to the website of The Twelve Apostles Greek Orthodox Church. The church is one of many Greek Orthodox churches in the United Kingdom. It serves as the spiritual centre for the community of Hertfordshire and beyond. Any visitor to our church will tell you that it is like a little monastery you expect to find at the top of a mountain in Cyprus or Greece.

Our church welcomes worshipers from other Orthodox Christian communities (Greek and non-Greek) and is especially popular with the younger generation who select it for their weddings and baptisms. We are the only Greek Orthodox church in the United Kingdom that broadcasts live video (see links above) and caters for online bookings (see link above) for weddings and baptisms. In addition, for weddings, we have authority to perform the civil ceremony at the same time as the religious one.

Who were the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ? Click here to find out.

FOOD BANK DONATIONS AT OUR CHURCH

The Twelve Apostles Church Food Bank is back in full operation, after the unavoidable but temporary interruption due to construction works at the Church.
The Food Bank, is run by a dedicated team of volunteers led by Stella Spyrou and has been working hard in support of local families. The aim of the team is to resume as soon as possible in the new year with the aim of helping hundreds of local people and families in this post-pandemic period with a soaring cost of living to cope with.
For the Food Bank, we would like you to donate non-perishable foods or give money for us to purchase these foods to give to those in need. Please see the attachment TWELVE APOSTLES FOOD BANK.PDF for more details. If you can help with packing these foods ready to be given to those in need, please contact the church to find out when we will need help in preparing the boxes.
If you know of a neighbour, loved one, or have a contact that is in need of urgent assistance kindly call our church office on 01707650147. The team will do everything in their power to help.
For the Food Bank to increase the size and scope of its ability, it needs as much prayer and financial support from the wider community in the coming months. Please call our church office to find out the many ways you can help.
We thank you in advance for your kind gifts and God bless you and your families abundantly.
